Staff & Clergy

Meet our Staff and Clergy!

Click on the images below to find out more about the folks working in front of and behind the scenes to sustain and grow St. John's ministries in the city and the world, shaping each week's liturgies, designing and teaching classes, taking care of our building, caring for parishioners of all ages, giving back to our neighbors, and being involved in our surrounding community in a wide range of ways.

Jackie Smith

Executive Director, Community Youth Program

Staff

Jackie graduated from Hollins University in 2008 with a bachelor of arts degree in communication studies. She worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Virginia as Program Director for seven years before joining CYP as the program coordinator; she stepped in to the role of CYP's executive director in August 2018. Jackie's parents and sister live in Roanoke and she feels fortunate to spend a lot of time with them. She also has two cats, Prim and Huck, whose mission is to get into as much mischief as possible. She enjoys reading and playing board games with friends, and loves her work with CYP. "I work with an amazing team of staff, board, and volunteers. I enjoy watching the kids grow, learn and have new experiences. Every day is different, so it never gets boring!"
