Meet our Staff and Clergy!

Click on the images below to find out more about the folks working in front of and behind the scenes to sustain and grow St. John's ministries in the city and the world, shaping each week's liturgies, designing and teaching classes, taking care of our building, caring for parishioners of all ages, giving back to our neighbors, and being involved in our surrounding community in a wide range of ways.

The Reverend David Olson

Senior Associate Rector

Clergy

David joined the staff of St. John’s as an associate in July of 2014.

David is an ordained Lutheran pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. A lifelong Lutheran he graduated from Lenior-Rhyne University with degrees in Theology and Music. He studied at Duke Divinity School and Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. David has served parishes in Michigan and North Carolina and has served as the pastor to the LEAF community at Elon University, a joint Lutheran and Episcopal campus ministry group.

Originally from Hendersonville, North Carolina, David loves first and foremost spending time with his wife Andrea and their three children Isaac, Maya and Ezra. He also enjoys reading, working with his hands, and doing anything outside. Especially if it involves trail running, mountain biking, or paddling. David loves to spend time with family and friends and thinks laughter is one of the greatest ideas God ever had.
