Paul’s letter to the church in Galatia is a vital book in the New Testament because it helps us to understand the theology that is at the heart of our beliefs. It was influential to the reformer Martin Luther who helped shape what would become the Protestant Church. It gives us insight into the struggles of the early followers of Jesus as they figured out who they were and what they would believe. In studying the book of Galatians we see that the questions of law and gospel, freedom and faith that were so important when Paul wrote the book are just as important in our lives today.
