The Renaissance and Reformation are often studied as distinct time periods. The truth is technology and historical cross currents met in this precise time and place of Europe to give birth to both the Renaissance and Reformation. Each fed the other and the exploration of them both together offers us a chance to see how the world emerged from a centuries long intellectual, cultural, and religious cul-de-sac into one of the greatest advancements known in human history. Learning their insights might lead us out of our own.
